NAIROBI / SWEETWATERS GAME RESERVE

Depart from Nairobi early in the morning and proceed further South to Ol pajeta Conservancy. Situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya, Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of wildlife, including all the members of the ‘Big Five’ (the endangered black and white rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion). Spend the afternoon exploring this pristine wilderness in a game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at Sweet Waters Tented Camp.

SWEETWATERS GAME RESERVE / SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Enjoy an early morning game drive at first light returning to the camp for a full breakfast. Check out thereafter and drive further north to the rugged Samburu National Reserve arriving on time for lunch at the Samburu Sopa Lodge. Relax after lunch enjoying the lodge facilities. Leave the lodge in the afternoon at around 3:30pm when its a bit cooler in search of big game till dusk.

SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Full day in Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Samburu is a beautiful and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe (Only found in the north of equator). Optional activities include a visit to a local Samburu village, camel riding and guided nature and bird walks. All meals and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE / ABERDARES NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast depart for Aberdares national park, arriving at Aberdares Country Club in time for lunch. The thrill of an overnight game viewing in the comfort of a Tree Hotel The lush hills of Aberdare National Park are covered by Kenya’s densest forest and form the eastern flank of the Great Rift Valley. Outside the park itself we pass many ranches, coffee plantations and early European settlements. You leave your main luggage at the base hotel and continue with just your overnight bags to one of the famous “tree hotels”, deep in the Aberdares Forest. On your journey to the lodge hope to see typical forest-dwelling animals such as the black and white Colobus Monkeys. A special feature of the lodge is the floodlit watering hole where you can watch from the lodge itself throughout the night as a great variety of animals come down to drink. Different species of animals are active during the night compared with during the day and many shy species such as rhinos will only approach the lodge at night. It is fascinating to watch their behavior around the watering hole as they take turns in drinking from the watering hole and eating the salt which is put out for them at the ‘salt lick’. In the morning hope to have spectacular views towards jagged outline of Mount Kenya. There is also excellent bird watching from the lodge terrace into the surrounding trees. ABERDARES NATIONAL PARK / LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Depart Aberdares after breakfast and proceed to the floor of the Rift Valley- making a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls which was named after Joseph Thompson, one of the first European explorers who walked from Mombasa to Lake Victoria in the 1880’s. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving Flamingo Hill Camp in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Dinner and overnight at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp.

LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK / MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Depart Lake Nakuru after an early breakfast and drive to Maasai Mara Game Reserve as you enjoy the scenic views of such features as Lake Elementaita, Lake Naivasha and Mt Longonot and Suswa, all of which are in the Great Rift Valley. Here you will spend (2) nights in Maasai Mara on a full board basis. Famed for its wildebeest migration during July – Oct, the Maasai Mara promises to be the highlight of a Kenyan safari. With vast open spaces, abundant game and breathtaking sunsets. Dinner at Overnight at Mara Sentrim camp.

MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Enjoy an early morning pre-breakfast game drive, return to the lodge for a hot breakfast. Depart Tsavo for Nairobi arriving late in the evening. Depending on the time of your departure, you will be dropped at JomoKenyatta International Airport.

MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE / NAIROBI / OUT

Enjoy a pre-morning game drive and return to the camp for a hot breakfast. Depart Maasai Mara Game Reserve after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon. Depending on the time of your departure, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your outbound flight.
