The local communities (Maasai Tribe) who have always relied on tourism as a source of income have been laid off without any income. Majority of them had secured jobs as camp staff, driver guides, camp security guides, maasai dancers, rangers, poters, chefs, receptionists, gardeners and cleaners.
Their lay off has left majority of our national parks empty and has also left them hungry and desperate for food having been bread winners in their families life is really tough.
