    NAIROBI CITY TOUR

    Nairobi city tour excursion offers you a perfect opportunity to learn about Kenya’s history, traditions, tastes and culture. This tour takes you through the Central Business District viewing local shopping centers, the Maasai market, Parliament Buildings, Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) and the Railway Museum. After this, a brief tour to the Snake Park and the National Museum a short distance away from the central district.

    NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK

    This park is in the Heart of Nairobi City and contains most of the animals to be seen on more extended safaris such as the black rhino, lion, buffalo, hippo, cheetah, zebra, giraffe and plenty of antelopes and gazelles.

    NAIROBI ANIMAL ORPHANAGE AND SAFARIS WALK

    Only 20 minutes drive from the city centre the Nairobi orphanage and safaris walk is located at main gate to the Nairobi National park being the only protected area in the capital city. Major attraction bonding with orphaned animals, up-close animal view, play with cheetah. We also have Lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, serval, very rare sokoke cats, warthogs, ostrich, leopards, various monkeys, baboon, buffalo, Birds: Parrot, guinea fowl, crown crane.

    SHELDRICK ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE

    This orphanage is located near Nairobi National Park and is a focal point for Elephant Conservation. You will get an opportunity to get up close and watch the elephants playing and being fed. Elephant calves orphaned by poaching are brought here from all over the country. They receive extremely specialized treatment here and literally receive personal care 24 hours a day from highly dedicated staff who becomes surrogate mothers to the calves. Eventually the calves are moved to Tsavo where they are carefully reintroduced into wild herds. Proceed to Utamaduni for lunch and shopping.

    NB: The centre is open to the public each morning from 11am to 12pm

    UTAMADUNI CRAFT CENTRE

    Cultural Nairobi Short Exursions. Utamaduni encompasses the best of African craft and supports craftsmen from all over Kenya. You can sit in the beautiful garden with refreshments and then wind your way through a treasure trove of shops.

    GIRAFFE CENTER

    Founded in 1972 by the Leslie-Melville’s, the Giraffe Center is a sanctuary for the endangered Rothschild giraffe which had lost its natural environment to agriculture. You will have the rare treat of hand feeding these gentle giants facing them eye-to-eye from an elevated viewing platform and learn about the different types of giraffes. Giraffe Centre was founded in 1972 by the Leslie-Melville’s, the Giraffe Center is a sanctuary for the endangered Rothschild giraffe which had lost its natural environment to agriculture.

    KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM

    You will also have an orientation drive that takes you through Kenya’s capital to the areas of Karen Blixen’s farm at the foot of the Ngong Hills. Visit the fascinating museum dedicated to the author of Out of Africa. The farm house gained international fame with the release of the movie ‘Out of Africa’ an Oscar winning film based on Karen’s an autobiography by the same title. Finally, admire authentic African art and crafts at Utamanduni.

    BOMAS OF KENYA

    Bomas of Kenya is an interesting tour to learn about the diverse cultures that make up Kenya. At the Centre you will be treated to a rich traditional music and dance show. Bomas of Kenya is only ten kilometers from the city center.

    THE CARNIVORE RESTAURANT – A UNIQUE NAIROBI EXPERIENCE

    Carnivore restaurant is a unique eatery that features a variety of game meats roasted on spits. Sample roasted zebra, ostrich, crocodile, just to name a few. Meat is roasted on traditional Maasai swords, which waiters then carry around the restaurant, carving a variety of meat onto cast iron plates in front of you. The Carnivore is famous for succulent stew and barbecue dishes of game meat. This restaurant makes an excellent welcome or farewell dinner.

    TAMARIND RESTAURANT NAIROBI: A SEAFOOD-LOVER’S PARADISE!

    TAMAMBO RESTAURANT – FUSION OF TAMARIND AND TAMAMBO DISHES

    Tamambo Karen Blixen Coffee Garden is located in a beautiful peacefully setting on Karen Road, near the Karen Blixen Museum, about a mile from Karen Gold and Country Club. It is the site of the original farmhouse which was the Blixen Property. The Restaurant is open for breakfast from 06:00am through 10.00pm.

    ART CAFFEE

    Art caffe is a full service bakery, coffee shop, bar and casual dining restaurant, open daily from 7am to midnight that targets customers of all ages who care about quality, ambience, community and value for money in the products they consume and their experience.     KAZURI BEADS

    Founded in 1975 by Lady Susan Wood, Kazuri provides employment to the disadvantaged members of Kenya society. The organization produces hand-made, hand-painted ceramic beads and Jewelry and pottery. Each bead is shaped by hand without the aid of moulds and forms.

    MAMBA VILLAGE

    At Crocodile farm, a displays of the age, weight and length of crocodiles. You will also see hatchlings to 5 meter long “big daddy” –the man eating monster, sun basking along the tropical garden trail. At five pm. daily, the crocodiles are fed and you can see them jump high in the air to snap the meat. It is where you will view a good selection of the most interesting members of the animal kingdom in their natural habitat. Some of the few things discussed are: Reptiles have been living for more than 400 million years on Earth.

    Reptiles that can forge pressure, with their jaws, weighing 40,000 kilos into 1 sq. cm. Reptiles can live up to 120 years and reach 21 feet with more than one ton of body weight.

    This is a nature paradise spreading over 30 acres and is famous for its Crocodile Farm, hosting over an estimated 70 Nile crocodiles. Maasai Ostriches can also be found strutting around and visitors often come into direct personal contact with them when given the opportunity to feed these gallant birds.
