7 Days Maasai Mara Great Wildebeest Safari

NAIROBI / AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Depart from Nairobi at 0700hrs and drive south to Amboseli National Park through Maasai country to the plains below Mt. Kilimanjaro where Amboseli is situated. Check in at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge / Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Amboseli means ‘the place of water’ in Maasai language. The park has an endless supply of water which is filtered through thousands of meters of volcanic rock from Mount Kilimanjaro. Animal species seen include elephant, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala and leopard. The birdlife seen here includes pelican, bee eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle and pygmy falcon. Amboseli is one of the most popular parks in Kenya a home of massive African Jumbos and the rooftop of Africa Mt Kilimanjaro. Afternoon proceed into the scenic Amboseli National Park for a game drive returning Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge / Amboseli Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Spend the entire day in Amboseli, with an early morning pre-breakfast game drives when you have the best chance to see the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro. Return to the camp for late breakfast. The rest of the morning is at leisure. Afternoon game drive. All meals and overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge / Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK / NAIVASHA

Enjoy an early morning breakfast, then depart for Naivasha, arriving at Kongoni Lodge / Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon boat ride on Lake Naivasha and a walking safari at Crescent Island, one of the few places in the world where one can wander on foot amidst wild animals – there are no predators. Return to Kongoni Lodge / Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

NAIVASHA / MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Depart Naivasha after breakfast for Maasai Mara Game Reserve and drive to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive at Mara Sopa Lodge / Mara Serena Safari Lodge in time for lunch; afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge / Mara Serena Safari Lodge.

MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Spend the entire 2 days in Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. You can opt to go out with picnic lunch boxes to spend most of the day in the park coming back to the lodge late afternoon, or you will have an early morning pre-breakfast game drive, and another one late afternoon. There will also be an optional visit to a local Maasai village. All meals and overnight at overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge / Mara Serena Safari Lodge.

MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE/ NAIROBI / OUT

Pre-breakfast game drive then depart Maasai Mara Game Reserve after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon. Depending on the time of your departure you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.
